The revised and expanded edition of ABBA - The Complete Recording Sessions was funded through a successful crowdfunding campaign, and was published on March 31, 2017, with the ebook version following on 6 April. The book won the Association for Recorded Sound Collections 2018 award for Best Popular Music Discography. As of 25 January, 2020, the hardcover version of the book is SOLD OUT, but the ebook is still available. (Read more about the different ebook versions).

After many requests for a reprint, a crowdfunding campaign for a second revised and expanded edition was launched 31 July 2025. Although the campaign ends 31 August, the goal sum for the campaign was reached on 23 August, which means that this new edition is funded and is going to happen. This is not just a straight reprint, but a brand new edition with plenty of updates and corrections added to it. Read more about this new edition of the book.

ABOUT THE BOOK

My first ABBA book, ABBA – The Complete Recording Sessions, published in 1994, has been re-published in an expanded, updated and heavily revised edition. It's something I've long wanted to do; I first started working on it back in 2007, but then got sidetracked by other projects. Now, finally, through the wonders of crowdfunding, I've been able to spend two years on research, listening to more unreleased music and alternate mixes, doing interviews, and then writing - after reading this new, completely rewritten version of the book, you will never quite hear ABBA's music in the same way again.

The book builds on the original edition by adding plenty of previously unknown facts about ABBA's recorded work, and should be a highly interesting read for the ABBA fan as well as anyone interested in classic pop music.
