Advent Calendar 2022

It can’t have been very common for British teen idols to write their own songs in 1959, but 19-year-old Billy Fury did. My Christmas Prayer doesn’t seem to have been particularly successful at the time, but its tinkly and just slightly otherworldly arrangement – is that a guitar and an electric piano playing in tandem? – sounds surprisingly fresh 63 years later.
