The good, the bad and the curious of Yuletide music.

Rosemary Clooney is a singer I've come to appreciate more and more in recent years. She has that combination of singing very precisely, yet with energy and warmth, not overdoing it, yet not underselling the song. I'm not sure how she did it, but Snow is a good example of her talents. As I recall the 1954 movie White Christmas, where this song was featured, isn't particularly good, but you can rarely go wrong with an Irving Berlin tune. Note: this version was recorded by Clooney for an album of songs from White Christmas, in the film she sings it together with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Trudy Stevens.
Listen to Snow.
Or listen on Spotify, where I've created a playlist for this year's Advent Calendar.
The Spotify playlist for all the previous Advent Calendars is here. Note: The playlist is incomplete, as some of my calendar selections are just too obscure for Spotify.
Snow: a great song from a not very good film.
