Thoughts and observations on the Swedish foursome

After working on the book ABBA On Record – Packaged Promoted Reviewed (abbaonrecord.com) for years, it feels unreal to be able to finally announce a publication date. In the week of 11–15 March, the massive Big Shipping of the book to everyone who has pre-ordered will take place. I've set 15 March as the official publication date, but if you have pre-ordered, there's a chance you will get it a day or two early.
If you haven't pre-ordered the book yet, but want your order to be included in the Big Shipping, so as to get your copy as early as possible, please place your order no later than Wednesday, 28 February. Orders placed after that date may not be included in the Big Shipping.
ABBA On Record tells the fascinating story about what happened to ABBA's music after it had left the recording studio: how the album sleeves were put together, how the record companies worked with the releases to make them as successful as possible, what kind of reviews they got – and more.
If you enjoyed my book ABBA – The Complete Recording Sessions, ABBA On Record is a must-purchase, for the book also includes two additional chapters: one about the making of the 2021 comeback album Voyage – presented in the diary format of The Complete Recording Sessions – and one detailing the contents of the Michael B. Tretow Tapes, hours of new insights about ABBA's recordings 1974–1981 (alternate lyrics, alternate vocals, creative decisions), including a few previously unfamiliar songs.
Today, I also have further announcements related to ABBA On Record:
Ebook: The ebook will be ready for delivery a little later than the hardcover. We're shooting for the week starting 18 March 2024. The ebook will be delivered in two formats: PDF and ePub. Mobi will not be delivered as this format is now outdated, and Kindle readers can handle ePub files. More information in this ebook document.
Appendices: As of this writing, I don't have a publication date for the PDF of the appendices I had to remove from the book for space reasons (The Music That Inspired Them, What Is A Schlager? and the Lyrics Sentiment Analysis). They will be delivered later this year, but for now all my time and energy is devoted to planning the shipping of ABBA On Record.
