Thoughts and observations on the Swedish foursome
published October 23, 2024
This year has seen an avalanche of ABBA books, but there's one, if I may be so arrogant, that towers above all the rest: ABBA On Record – Packaged Promoted Reviewed. Five years in the making – and that's not counting the decades of research that have also fed into the book – ABBA On Record is jam-packed with previously unknown or long-forgotten stories about ABBA, their glorious career, and how they presented themselves to the world, including a number of previously unpublished pictures.
The two additional chapters about The Michael B. Tretow Tapes – hours and hours of previously unheard unknown ABBA songs, and insights into what happened during their recording sessions – and the making of the Voyage album in chronological detail, makes ABBA On Record a must-purchase for the ABBA fan.
But don't take my word for it. Classic Pop magazine awarded the book five stars ("a complete triumph"), and Record Collector gave it four ("a vital, vibrant addition to any ABBA bookshelf"). Perhaps even more importantly, the testimonials from readers have been incredible, beyond anything I as the author had dared hope for: "Everyone needs to order this book if you haven’t already", "Through your research and the new facts, you give us the opportunity to be closer to ABBA!", and "I was blown away by the detail and depth of investigation of every ABBA single and album revealed in this wonderful book" are just some of the nice things that have been said about ABBA On Record.
There is a page on this website where you can learn about the book, with links to reviews, in-depth interviews and more. The book is ordered from abbaonrecord.com (prices include postage). Don't miss out on ABBA On Record!
