Over the years, there have been quite a few Monica Zetterlund compilation CDs released. However, with the issue of Z - Det bästa med Monica Zetterlund ("Z - The Best Of Monica Zetterlund"), for the first time a double-CD is released that neatly covers her entire career from the 1950s up until the 1990s. Notably, the compilation also contains one previously unreleased track from 1964: the quite excellent 'What Are We Waiting For'.

The compilation was put together by Jan Friberg and Monica Rafalowicz at Universal Music in Stockholm, Sweden. Monica's friend and biographer Tom Alandh, who also made a documentary about her, wrote an introduction for the CD booklet. I advised on the track listing and contributed an essay about Monica's recording career.

A large portion of the profits for this compilation goes to Monica Zetterlunds Minnesfond ("The Monica Zetterlund Memorial Fund"), set up in the wake of her demise in May 2005.
